- Height (at the withers):
- Males: 24.0-26.0 inches (61.0-66.0 cm)

- Males: 79.4-94.8 pounds (36.0-43.0 kg)
- Females: 70.6-83.8 pounds (32.0-38.0 kg)
Head (Skull, Eyes, Ears, Nose, Muzzle, Lips):
- Skull: Broad, deep, proportionate to the body, not appearing rough or clumsy. Rounded top between the ears.
- Eyes: Slightly oblique, almond-shaped, medium-sized, brown color preferred, deeper color preferred.
- Nose: Black for all colors except red-coated dogs, where brown is acceptable. “Snow nose” with light-colored stripes is acceptable.
- Ears: Triangular, slightly rounded tips, set wide apart, standing erect or may fold backward when working.
Body (Neck, Chest, Ribs, Back, Forequarters, Skin):
- Neck: Strong, slightly arched.
- Chest: Well-developed.
- Body: Compact structure, not overly heavy, with appropriate bone size.
- Back: Straight and slightly sloping towards the hips.
Legs (Forequarters, Shoulders, Hindquarters, Feet):
- Forequarters: Shoulders moderately sloping, forelimbs straight and muscular.
- Hindquarters: Wide, strong, well-muscled, with moderate angulation at the hocks.
- Feet: Compact, snowshoe-shaped, well-padded, with large and tight toes. Protective hair between toes.
Tail:
- Positioned at the end of the spine, carried over the back when at rest. Softly plumed, not tightly curled over the back.
Gait/Movement:
- Stable, harmonious, and powerful gait. Agile with strong drive from hindquarters. Legs move in a straight line, neither too close nor too wide.
Disqualifications:
- Any deviation from the specified points.
- Malocclusions (overshot or undershot).
- Blue eyes.
